WELCOME TO BALTTECHNIKA  2009!

BALTTECHNIKA 2009, the largest engineering business and technology exhibition in the Baltics, will take place at the Lithuanian Exhibition Centre LITEXPO in Vilnius from 19 to 22 May 2009. Co-organisers of the exhibition – the Engineering Industries Association of Lithuania LINPRA and the LITEXPO centre.

The BALTTECHNIKA exhibition, being organised for the 17th time this year, every year gathers over 200 companies from various countries of the world from metalworking, mechanical, electrical and electronic industry sectors, as well as related R&D and training institutions, introducing their latest technologies, products and services. Seminars and conferences held during the exhibition highlight the most urgent issues for the industry – from latest production technologies to development of human resources. In 2008, the exhibition was attended by 11.000 local and foreign visitors. BALTTECHNIKA’s contributions to internationalisation of the Lithuanian engineering industries were recognised by the award of the Gold Medal of the Lithuanian Product of the Year, granted by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists in 2008.

The main topics of BALTTECHNIKA 2009 will be as follows:
• Technologies, machinery and tools for metal and plastic processing,
• Subcontracting services and products,
• Industrial automation solutions and equipment,
• Technologies and services for mechanical and electrical engineering,
• Technologies and equipment for environmental protection,
• Equipment and solutions for the generation, transmission and distribution of power.

Special attention in the exhibition is dedicated for international co-operation and business contacts, therefore an international B2B matchmaking event „Lithuania – a reliable European Business partner II“ will be held on May 20, 2009. Individual meetings between potential partners from more 10 European countries, including Austria, Germany, Scandinavian and Baltic countries, the Netherlands and UK will be held in the following sections:
• Metal and plastic products,
• Electrical  and electronic products,
• Mechanical and electrical engineering ,
• Industrial automation,
• Innovation support.

It is important to note that there are two issues creating additional value-added for visitors and participants of BALTTECHNIKA 2009: firstly, the exhibition will be accompanied, at the same site, by international trade fair of ITC technologies INFOBALT 2009, secondly, upon the agreement of engineering industry sister associations from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, BALTTECHNIKA 2009 is prioritized as the main sector trade fair of in the Baltics in 2009 thus attracting extra participants and visitors from the Baltic region.
Germany is the main foreign business partner for Lithuanian engineering industries, and German companies and businessmen are traditional participants and visitors of BALTTECHNIKA exhibition from its beginning in the 90-ties.
